The YWCA’s Annual Women of Achievement event is held every November at the beautiful Dearborn Inn in Dearborn, Michigan. The YWCA honors eight outstanding women for their work and dedication to the community! This truly memorable event serves to inspire and empower women leaders throughout the community!

The YWCA’s 19th Annual Women of Achievement Event is being held on Friday, November 20, 2009 at the breathtaking Dearborn Inn. We were extremely proud to have Dr. Fakhoury as our 2008 Woman of the Year. The YWCA will also welcome our 2007 Young Professional, Ashlee Baracy, back to the event who was recently named Miss Michigan 2008!

Nominations are currently being accepted for the following categories:

  • Arts and Communications
  • Law and Government
  • Business Leadership
  • Dedicated Volunteer
  • Young Professional
  • Leadership
  • Young Woman

The YWCA has also created a special mentoring program for young women through this event. Women of Achievement Honorees dedicate their time and expertise to mentor a young woman currently enrolled at a local college and looking to follow in their mentor’s footsteps! We are looking forward to welcoming our 2008 Women of Achievement Honorees and our students from the University of Michigan-Dearborn back to be part of the 2009 Women of Achievement event!
