YWCA Women of Achievement Silent Auction

On December 2, 2011, at the Women of Achievement luncheon, the YWCA will hold a silent auction to raise funds for programs that will benefit women and their families in Western Wayne County. Please consider donating an item or service to the Silent Auction. You will be helping to raise money for these important programs and you or your company will receive recognition at the event and on our website.

Donate Gently Used Professional Clothes

The YWCA is currently accepting donations of new or gently used, clean professional clothing and accessories for the Corporate Clothing Closet. Through this program, low-income women looking to further their career, re-entering the workforce or interviewing for positions are provided professional attire and may elect to work with a volunteer job coach for help with resume writing or interviewing tips. The YWCA also welcomes donations of hangers and clothing fixtures. To donate clothing or accessories, call the YWCA at 313-561-4110 x 1.

Host Your Own Event

By hosting an event and designating the YWCA of Western Wayne County as the recipient of the proceeds, you have the opportunity to have fun while also benefiting a great cause. Companies may hold "jean days," designate a portion of sales for a day, host an "opening" party or hold employee contests. Clubs, groups or families may hold bake sales, dog walking, dinners, yard sales, etc. Please contact the YWCA at (313) 561-4110, ext. 1 for more information on our policies. You must contact the YWCA office before using our organizational name, logo or other information in promotional materials.

Donate Stock or Real Estate

Please contact the YWCA if you would like to make a donation of stocks or other valuables. Your attorney or tax professional can show you the advantages of contributing in this manner.

In-Kind Expertise or Goods and Services

In-kind professional expertise, such as legal, accounting, marketing, technical, fund development, design or writing is greatly appreciated. Donations of office supplies, cleaning supplies, printing, transportation means that more of every dollar contributed can go to direct services for low-income women and their children.
